Dave was born in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia and as a child cherished his annual holidays on the South Coast where his passion for fishing started. He worked and travelled across Australia with his young family in 1995, eventually landing on the sunshine coast in Queensland.
Dave is adamant that Kayak Fishing has helped save his life. In a dark place, 16 years ago, after launching his first kayak off the beach as a means to escape, he found the serenity and calm of the ocean better than therapy. He also found Spanish Mackerel. His 3 children shared this journey of weekend trips camping, fishing and surf launching along the beaches from Noosa to Fraser Island. They all continue to visit and fish with their old man regularly.
In 2021 Dave made the journey back to Western Australia to visit family and ended up in Exmouth. Finding his kayak fishing Nirvana, Dave is now HOME!
